Halloween Door Decorations

Great Halloween door decorations are a nice way to welcome guests.  The right Halloween decoration for your door will not only delight visitors, but you can match it to your outdoor "theme."

This here is my favorite Halloween door decoration!  First off, I love the use of orange and black - traditional and classic.

I also love that this is a substantial wreath - you'll see if from the street!  And the handpainted candy corn "Trick or Treat" accent just makes it pop.

This Halloween wreath for your door is made of orange and yellow mesh, with complimentary accent ribbons throughout.

This is a handmade item and is made to order, so you'll want to order early enough to get it by October.

Orange and black not your thing?  This seller offers another wreath in purple and green, for a more whimsical color scheme!

And if you love this Halloween ribbon wreath like I do, you'll want to check out this seller's other items that include a fall wreath, a Christmas ribbon wreath, and other "all season" wreaths.  Any of these would look beautiful decorating your doorway.

Halloween Decorations for Your Doorway

Another great way to decorate your door and welcome greeters for Halloween is with a hanging sign.  This is a great option if, like me, you have a screen door in front of your actual door.

I've also used these on the outside of my home, hung from a small nail on the side of my house, or hanging from the overhang above my porch.

I think these work well if you just don't have a lot of space to decorate.  For a small apartment, these would be perfect!

Halloween Door Decorations that Cover

My last picks are Halloween door decorations that cover up your door.  These are a little campier than my previous picks, but can be a lot of fun.

All you need to do is secure them over your door.  I suggest using other props to enhance your display.  A ghostly greeter next to your door or some spiderwebs can really make your Halloween door decorations look great!

These remind me of one of my favorite Halloween decorations that I still use - it's a window cover that, when lit from behind, looks like a big, black cat is hissing from my window. It's a pretty cool effect!

Halloween Decorations tombstones

When you think of Halloween decorations, tombstones are one of the first things that come to mind. What I love about these is that even if you have just one, it makes a big impact on your display.

Think about it.

Tombstone Halloween decorations are one of the few that you need to create a spooky effect. They're like fog machines - there's not much to them, but they're the essential prop that sets the perfect mood.

Halloween Decorations Tombstones
If you're looking for a reasonably priced set of Halloween tombstone decorations, you can't do much better than this set of 6 tombstones.

This set has a tombstone with one traditional inscription - RIP - and five that have humorous messages, like:

~  Izzy Dead
~  Ima Goner
~  Barry A. Live
~  Dustin Ash

And finally, "If you are reading this you need to get a life."

At 21.3" x 14.8", these headstones are large enough that guests and passerby will definitely see them - they're not going to get lost among your other decorations.  At the same time, they're not huge, so if you have a small yard, these will work nicely.  And since you get six of them, you could easily add in one or two more larger tombstones and create a full, diverse, creepy cemetery.

These tombstone Halloween decorations are easy to set up and easy to store, so you can reuse them next year.

When getting out your Halloween decorations, tombstones are quick and easy to set up, setting the stage for adding the rest of your decorations.

Animated Halloween decorations bring life to any area of your home.  If you're having a party, animations can be funny or gross, spooky or cute - adding a whole new experience for your guests.

In your yard, animated decorations for Halloween just look cool.  And when your yard looks great, it's an amazing feeling.

Don't you love it when your neighbors tell you how much fun it was to experience your decorations?  I know I love it!

Animated Halloween Decorations
One of the coolest animated Halloween decorations I've found is this, a bundle that allows you to project animated jack-o-lantern faces on to pumpkins!

This Halloween pumpkin decoration package comes with everything you need to get this effect at home.

All G-rated, your pumpkins will crack jokes, tell spooky stories, sing songs, and make funny faces at your guests and neighbors.

I can guarantee this will be a real crowd-pleaser!

You do need to do some setup.  Basically, just getting everything ready on a projector.

If you don't have a projector, you'll need to purchase one, and if you don't want to do that, there are still lots of really cool animated Halloween decorations you can use instead

Talking Halloween Decorations

Talking Halloween decorations are another way to add some extra fun to your holiday shenanigans.  And some of these companies have gone really high-tech!  You have Halloween decorations that sing and tell jokes, scare and tell stories.

When a Halloween decoration talks, sings, or scares, a spooky home or yard is brought to life.  I personally love interacting with decorations like this!  Don't you?

I've been to some homes that give off a really big scare when Halloween comes 'round.  Other homes decide to go a softer route with lighthearted witches, ghosts, and goblins that scare up a good time, as opposed to sending a kid off screaming in fright.

And let me tell you, that's not just talk.  I remember growing up hearing my mom tell the story of how one of our neighbors - dressed as a very scary vampire - got so into his role, that he sent me off screaming down the street - my homemade Eeyore costume legs swishing behind me.

What kind of decorations will you be using this Halloween?

When you're looking for outdoor inflatable Halloween decorations, you want good quality at a great price.  And the "spook factor" needs to be really high!

Whether you're after a more kid-friendly look for your yard or want something that will give the neighbors a fright when walking by, I've found some great items for you to look at.

Outdoor Inflatable Halloween Decorations
My top pick is this Grim Reaper horse-drawn jack-o-lantern carriage inflatable yard decoration.

I think it strikes a nice balance between too scary and too cutesy.  I think the scariness is also downplayed seeing as it's an inflatable, but I do believe it's scary enough for some of your darker yard scenes.

Imagine this in your yard, lit up by jack-o-lanterns, as an eerie fog drifts across the yard...illuminating some things and disguising others.

Like other outdoor inflatable Halloween decorations, this one is BIG.  It's 15 feet long, so be sure you have the yard space to accommodate the Reaper and his carriage.

Speaking of which, the jack-o-lantern carriage lights up and treats visitors to a "fire and ice" light show - small lights twinkle inside to light up the pumpkin carriage.

Oh, and did I mention you get sound with this one?  Yep - you'll hear the beat of horses hooves as the Grim Reaper lets you know that, "You're next!"

Check it out:

You get everything you need for display - except 4 AA batteries that you'll need to purchase to get sound.  Otherwise, you simply roll out the inflatable and let the fan do its thing.  The included stakes will help keep your Reaper and his carriage from going anywhere.
Not to worry if you're expecting winds or rain, either.  This thing is weather resistant, too!
